Preparing Clip into the Timeline
After the clip-clip that we use is imported, then the next step is to set up the clip-clip into the Timeline. We can directly drag and drop the clip-clip that is in the Project Window into the Timeline window-clip if the clip does not require trimming process. Similarly clip that has undergone trimming, we can directly drag and drop the video that appears on the Source Monitor window after trimming. But we can also use the Insert method to insert and overlay clip trimming results in the Timeline window.

Methods Insert and Overlay Method
After trimming to determine the In Point and Out Point on one video clip then we will practice using the Insert and Overlay and see the

difference between the two, the steps are as follows:

1. Select one clip that is in the Project Window, then drag it into the Timeline window and put it on Video Track 1.
2. Then select a clip in the Project Window, then drag it into the Timeline window and place on Track Video 1 right next to the first clip. Then click on Video 2 to set active Track Video 2, then click on to activate the Audio 2 Audio Track 2.

3. After that the Source Monitor window, in which we do trimming, press the Insert key.

4. Then clip trimming results will be incorporated into the Timeline window by cutting the clip is in place Current Time Marker is located, then the clip cuts will be front clip trimming results.

 

5. Then press CTRL + Z to undo the Insert option.

6. Then in the Source Monitor window click the Overlay button. Then clip trimming results will be placed in layers or tracks that do not contain clip / track empty.
